DeAngelo Marine Exhaust Inc.

Generator Exhaust Systems

Noise, vibration, and soot discharge are the top three generator complaints — and the exhaust and muffler system is the single biggest lever you have. We've spent 40 years engineering that lever.

Overview

What this service includes

Every diesel generator produces heat, noise, vibration, and soot. How much makes it into the engine room — and onto the hull and decks — depends largely on the exhaust system and muffler design.

D'Angelo Marine has over 30 years of working with diesel generator exhaust and mufflers. We design and build new systems, repair existing ones, and integrate them with our SeaClean DPF when a soot solution is needed.

Benefits

  • Reduced noise — internal and external at dock or mooring
  • Reduced vibration that reverberates through the vessel
  • Reduced air & water discharge — meet Mediterranean marina regs
  • Improved efficiency, longer generator life, better output
  • ABS, Lloyd's, RINA, ABYC, DNV classification readiness
  • Compatible with SeaClean DPF retrofit when needed
Process

How we work

01

Assess

We measure the existing system, document back-pressure, noise, and discharge.

02

Design

Engineers spec the muffler package, silencer, and routing to meet your sound and class targets.

03

Fabricate

316L stainless or AL6XN, hand TIG welded, passivated, finished and insulated.

04

Install & Tune

Service team installs, commissions, and validates against the design targets.

Problems we solve

Common challenges we eliminate

Generator noise at dock

Custom silencer packages tuned to RPM.

Soot on the hull

Pair with SeaClean DPF to capture 98%.

Vibration

Isolated mounts and flexible connections.

Marina compliance

Designed against current EU/Med discharge regs.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Will a new exhaust really reduce noise that much?

Yes. A properly sized muffler and silencer package, combined with isolated mounting, addresses the dominant noise paths — both airborne and structure-borne.

Can you add SeaClean to my existing generator?

Yes — SeaClean's modular design lets us retrofit most installations within the existing generator sound shield envelope.

Do you work with my generator brand?

We've worked extensively with Northern Lights, KiloPak, Kohler, John Deere, and all major marine generator manufacturers.
