DeAngelo Marine Exhaust Inc.
Service

Engineering & Design

Six full-time engineers dedicated to designing exhaust systems. From sportfish to mega-yachts, sailboats to commercial and military vessels — we engineer for every classing society, engine, and sound target.

Overview

What this service includes

D'Angelo Marine works closely with marine architects and naval engineers around the world to design exhaust systems most suited to a project's requirements and specifications. We also work hand-in-hand with boatyards and shipyards during engine repairs and vessel refits.

From Lloyd's to GL and from RINA to ABS, we have had our systems classed by every society. We are continuously working on systems for MTU, Caterpillar, Cummins, Deutz, Detroit Diesel, M.A.N., Scania, Baudouin, and other marine engines — and generator brands including Northern Lights, KiloPak, Kohler, and John Deere.

Benefits

  • Six full-time engineers focused on exhaust design
  • 3D CAD design and visualization
  • Back-pressure calculation and performance reporting
  • Sound attenuation analysis
  • New construction OR repower OR retrofit
  • Underwater, dry stack, and water injection systems
  • Generator systems — new designs and re-designs
  • Soot filtration integration (SeaClean & regen)
Process

How we work

01

Brief

Engine, vessel, layout, class, and acoustic requirements captured.

02

3D Model

System designed in 3D from engine-room layout or physical measurements.

03

Validation

Back-pressure calculated and reported; class submissions prepared.

04

Hand-off to Fab

Drawings and specifications routed to the fabrication floor, all under one roof.

Problems we solve

Common challenges we eliminate

Spec mismatch

Designed to engine OEM and class spec from day one.

Bad fit on installation

Physical measurements or 3D scans verify before fabrication.

Excessive back-pressure

Calculated and reported up front.

Class society delays

We submit drawings ahead of fabrication.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Can you design for any engine?

We work continuously with MTU, Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Deutz, M.A.N., Scania, Baudouin and others — plus all major marine generator brands.

Do you handle performance tuning?

Yes. We calculate back-pressure and report on system performance to confirm the system as designed or installed is properly sized.

Can you submit to any class society?

We have had systems classed by every major society: ABS, Lloyd's, DNV, RINA, GL, ABYC.
